I went to Okayama today.

I want to visit Shizutani school to see this building.

Recommended course

JR Osaka → JR Himeji 姫路：transfer（for Himeji）

→JR Aioi 相生: transfer（for Akou)

→ JR Yoshinaga Station 吉永：Get off train

→ Bus ( In front of the station, you can see a red bus: for Iri 伊里)

→Shizutani Gakkou – mae：Get off bus

9:00, 9:35, 10:00, 11:05, 12:05, 13:00

14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30

Also a taxi is always waiting in front of the station.

Yoshinaga Station is very tiny and pretty.

JR Akou line is retro!!

The national treasure Shizutani School Lecture Hall.

The oldest public school in existence in the world.

Foundation: 1670 year (Edo period)

Tsuda Nagatada was an architect in Edo period.

He designed this school building and Koraku-en garden in Okayama city.

It took over 30 years for him to complete this building.

It is said taht,

The most wonderful national treasure building

in the East of Japan is Nikko Toshogu.

The most wonderful national treasure building

in the West of Japan is Shizutani School.

Shizutani School is not glittering, it is simplicity.

But if you visit it, you can feel the buiding’s wonderfulness.
