Kumano Kodo is a pilgrimage road

to go to Kumano Sanzan (=Kumano Three Mountains)

It is like a San Diego de Compo stela.

The last town of two roads

Galicia(Spain) and Wakayama(Japan)

have a sister road tie-up.

Kumano Three Mountains are holy places,

each Mountain has a shrine.

The Kumano Area is in Kii Peninsula,

Which is center of Japanese Islands.

Kii Peninsula is at the biggest peninsula in Japan,

and the South area has a lot of mountains.

The area has attracted

the hearts of Japanese people since the 8th century.

Many religions are gathered here.

Buddhism, Shintoism, Shugendo.

Shugendo is a unique mountain belief.

Especially, Omine Mountain is

the place of training for Shugendo.

Women can not enter this mountain.

That custom is still continuing.

On this time, I visited shrines of Kumano three Mountains.
