Nachi Shrine
Kumano Nachi shrine area (Altitude 330 m)
There are two shrines and a temple on this mountain.
Nachi shrine, Hirou shrine (Shrine = waterfall: No building), Seigantoji temple.
There is one of the famous waterfall in Japan.
Nachi waterfall is 133m tall. It is the object of worship
Seigantoji Temple
This temple’s history started in the 4th century
by Ragyo-Syonin who came from India.
He founded the Buddha statue at Nachi waterfall base.
The building of this temple was rebuilt in 1590,
by Toyotomi Hideyoshi (a famous Samurai)
Big bell (Oho-wanikuchi: diameter 1.4m weight 450kg)
Nachi shrine
There are 6 Shrine buildings.
But on this time, it was under construction.
It was disappointing.
The big tree (camphor: about 800 years old)
I could “Tainai Meguri” (胎内巡り),
it means to pass through the womb.
I went through the tree cave.
There is a ladder inside the tree,
you can go to upstairs.
It is one of the trainings, people to be reborn
when they go through the narrow and dark spaces.
A lot of shrines and temples have Tainai Meguri in Japan.
If you find it, please try it.
