Shippoyaki(=the cloisonne)
is enamel work
done on a metal base.
It shines like a jewel.
One of the famous traditional craft in Japan.
Nmikawa Yasuyuki
(1845-1927) is Craftsman of Shippoyaki
He skillfully uses iron wire and glaze,
he drew flowers, birds, landscapes on vases and dishes.
He won numerous awards
at the Paris Expo in 1889 and 1900.

You can see his art work and studio in this museum.

There is beautiful Japanese garden.
The wonderful stones is arranged. big, nice shape and color.
The stones setting is important in Japanese garden.

Open hours : 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (last entry at 4:00 p.m.)
Closed : Monday and Thursday
(When a National Holiday falls on a Monday or a Thursday,
the museum is open that day, but closed the nest day)
Admission Fees

Individual Adults : 600 yen
College Students, or persons aged 70 or older : 500 yen
Junior or Senior High School Students : 300 yen
Elementary School Students or younger, or disabled persons : Free
